Ultra Selected Barred Lemon Wood Duck
- 6 hand-matched Ultra Selected Feathers
- Medium & Large Size
The barred duck feathers taken from the flanks of the Lemon Wood Duck, also called Carolina Wood Duck or Summer Duck, are among the most sought after and suitable for the construction of artificial flies. These magnificent feathers characterised by carefully hand-matched black and white spikes are used in the construction of classic salmon flies and also in some wet flies, such as the Royal Coachman wet. They have been tied by Mary Orvis Marbury, John Atherton, Preston Jennings, Charlie De Feo.
On some classic models of salmon flies these feathers find their most effective use, in particular for wings, sides and cheeks. Some examples are the Lemon Gray, the Black Rover, the Silver Wilkinson, the Dixon, the Childers, the Popham. Available in bags of 6 mixed feathers between medium and large size, carefully selected and hand-matched. Limited availability.
